Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers June 30 – July 6, as Mario Kart World spends its fifth week at #1, thanks to selling yet another 114,000 copies in Japan alone. Despite only launching last month, the extraordinary sales total for Mario Kart World is about to cross 1.3 million units.
The newly released Tamagotchi Plaza is also persisting on the charts, and despite launching last week to over 100,000 units sold, it maintains second place with its Switch version thanks to an additional 24,000 sales. Combining versions across Switch platforms, Tamagotchi Plaza has now sold over 150,000 copies since it launched just a couple of weeks ago, and it’s still going!
