RedOctane Games confirmed at Gamescom Opening Night Live that Stage Tour, an instrument-based rhythm game inspired by Guitar Hero and Rock Band, will launch on December 10, 2026. The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with a set list of more than 90 songs.
RedOctane returns with Stage Tour
Originally founded in the 1990s, RedOctane is known for its work on the Guitar Hero franchise, including partnerships with Harmonix and later Neversoft on early entries in the series. Activision closed RedOctane in 2010, and the studio was revived in August 2025 by former RedOctane developers, including some who worked on the first Guitar Hero.
Stage Tour, announced in February, is the studio’s first new project since Guitar Hero World Tour. Its release includes game modes, instrument peripherals, customization options, and a large music catalog.
The game will feature more than 180 authentic licensed guitars from companies including Gibson and Epiphone. It will also offer more than 50 bandmates, along with clothing options and accessories available from launch.
Stage Tour editions and hardware pricing
RedOctane has announced the following U.S. pricing for the game and its hardware:
- Standard Edition: $39.99 on PS5, PC, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
- Kramer Guitar & Game Bundle: $129.99, including the full game and a compatible Kramer guitar controller.
- Band Kit + Game Bundle: $299.99, including a guitar, drum set, and microphone.
- Standalone hardware: guitar controller for $109.99, drum kit for $199.99, wireless microphone for $29.99, and wired microphone for $19.99.
Pre-orders for the digital Standard Edition were not yet live when the pricing was announced. Hardware bundles were available to pre-purchase through the official Stage Tour website.
Music and game modes
The announced soundtrack spans six decades and includes music from Mötley Crüe, Paramore, Radiohead, Olivia Rodrigo, Babymetal, and Fall Out Boy.
Five modes have been confirmed: Quickplay, Practice, Judgements, Karaoke, and Tour Mode. Tour Mode uses a roguelite structure in which players choose bandmates and progress through gigs with different outcomes.
Video Games Chronicle reported that 45 tracks had been announced at the time of its coverage and that additional songs would be revealed before release. Shacknews also reported the December 10, 2026 release date for consoles and PC.
Stage Tour is scheduled to arrive on December 10, 2026, bringing RedOctane back to instrument-based rhythm games with a new game, controller options, and a 90-plus-song soundtrack.
