Sega has confirmed Crazy Taxi: World Tour for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is coming in 2027, according to Sega’s official announcement published June 8, 2026.
Crazy Taxi returns with online multiplayer
Crazy Taxi: World Tour builds on the series’ high-speed action and open-city driving, Sega said. The new installment follows protagonist Axel as he journeys across the world while running his taxi business, and it introduces the franchise’s first-ever online multiplayer mode.
Crazy Taxi first launched as an arcade game in 1999 before being ported to home consoles including the Dreamcast. Players race through a city, picking up passengers and delivering them to their destinations. Sega describes the series as one of its flagship driving games and highlights its rock-band soundtrack as another defining feature.
The official website is live, and Sega has opened store pages for the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam. The publisher said a Nintendo Switch 2 store page will be available later. IGN reported that the game was fully revealed in a trailer during the Xbox Showcase and that the project had originally been announced in late 2023.

All of the listed versions are scheduled for 2027. Sega’s announcement also says the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam pages are available for wishlisting, while the Nintendo Switch 2 page is still pending.
Traxion.gg reports that the trailer shows San Francisco, including what appears to be the Golden Gate Bridge, and uses The Offspring’s All I Want. IGN also reports that Sega had previously described the concept as an open-world, massively multiplayer AAA game. Those details are not included in Sega’s June 8 announcement.
What Sega has yet to detail
Sega has not outlined how the online multiplayer mode will work. The announcement lists the price as to be determined, identifies the player count as one with online multiplayer details still to be determined, and says the CERO rating is scheduled. It also does not provide further specifics on the game’s cities or multiplayer structure.
Sega says more updates are coming through its official Crazy Taxi channels. For now, World Tour is positioned as a new entry that combines the series’ established city-driving format with Axel’s story and online multiplayer.
