Spider-Man PS4 Deepfake Cut – Tobey Maguire Is Spidey Again

It’s bizarre, yet oddly captivating to watch, YouTuber BabyZone has given us a glimpse at what Spider-Man, the PS4 exclusive might have looked like, if it featured the cast from Sam Raimi’s original, Spider-Man trilogy.

The deep fake cut makes up a collection of cutscenes from 2018’s Spider-Man. Still, BabyZone, with incredible skill and resources, has superimposed the faces of Tobey Maguire, (the trilogy’s original Peter Parker), Kirsten Dunst, (Mary Jane), and Willem Dafoe, (the iconic, unforgettable Green Goblin), into a variety of the game’s cutscenes.

It’s easier to watch the clip via YouTube than explain the end result. It’s certainly something special.

On the subject of superheroes, Marvel’s Avengers beta weekend didn’t get off to the best of starts. The beta demonstration was not limited to the Playstation 4 community alone, but instead open to all from Xbox One, PC and Virgin Media customers.

As a result of the beta’s evident popular demand, this caused delays in confirmation emails being sent to players. Square Enix cited the reason for the delays were due to “a high volume of Square Enix Members account registrations,” before adding that they were “actively working on addressing this.”

Later on, a new post announced that the email queue had cleared up, which allowed for confirmation emails to circulate more efficiently to players.

In June, as part of Sony’s Future Of Gaming event, the studio showcased the forthcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As a follow up to 2018’s critically acclaimed Spider-Man, Morales appeared in a supporting role. According to a post from Playstation.Blog, Miles Morales will “build on and expand Marvel’s Spider-Man through an all-new story.”

“Players will experience the rise of Miles Morales as he masters new powers to become his own Spider-Man.”

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to launch sometime during the 2020 holiday season. A PS4 release of the game has yet to be announced.
