Battle Royale Mode Coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

It has been announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature a battle royale mode.

After announcing the game earlier this month, Activision has recently pulled back the curtains on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and announced that the game will feature a battle royale mode, entitled Blackout. Blackout will pit players, either solo or in teams, against each other as they fight to be the last one standing, similar to PUBG and Fortnite. Developer Treyarch stated that they wanted to do a battle royale mode “the Black Ops way,” and are incorporating elements of previous Black Ops titles into the mode.

In a trailer for the new mode, which can be seen below, it was revealed that the map being used in Blackout is the biggest that Treyarch has ever made. The mode will feature weapons, items, and characters from previous Black Ops titles, including the RC car. The map will also allow players to pilot land, air, and sea vehicles, and will include locations seen in previous Black Ops titles.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases on October 12. The game will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PC version of the game will be available exclusively through Blizzard’s Battle.net service. A beta for the game will be held sometime before the game releases, with the exact details coming at a later date.
