Battlefield 6 Post-Launch Content Plans Revealed, Including New Maps And Modes

We’re a day away from being in Battlefield 6‘s launch month, with the anticipated shooter set to release on October 10. However, as all live service gamers will know, the launch of the game is only the first part of its lifespan. We’re in for plenty of content updates, and the newly-sold EA just announced their plans for the first season of Battlefield 6 content to rollout from October 28.

When Season 1 launches, it will come with a new game mode, a new map, along with one new vehicle, three new weapons and two new attachments. The new map will be named Blackwell Fields, an American air base in California’s badlands, with the capacity to support any combat size along with foot soldiers, land vehicles and, of course, aircraft. The new mode is Strikepoint, which puts two squads of four in competition with each other, capturing objectives over multiple rounds with no respawns – just one life per round!

The following month on November 18, we get another California based map with Eastwood, a wealthy west coast suburb that again supports all combat sizes as soldiers battle through streets, houses and even a golf course. A new mode will also be added, but this is a limited-time offering named Sabotage. In the limited Sabotage game mode, two squads of eight will have to destroy sites belonging to the other team, detonating their spaces and racking up points in the process. Two new weapons will be added here also, along with the Battle Pickups feature, which are high-powered weapons that will appear in-game with limited ammo for lucky soldiers.

Finally, there’s the December 9 update, in which the Empire State map will get a frosty coat of paint to celebrate the winter season, along with an appropriately chilly limited-time mode named Ice Lock, where players need to avoid getting frozen. Finally, an Ice Climbing Axe will be added as a brutal new melee weapon, with its environmental uses too.
