BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Beta Coming Next Weekend

The dates for the PlayStation 4 version of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle beta have been released.

Arc System Works has announced that the open beta for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will begin on May 9 for those who have pre-ordered the title digitally on the PlayStation Store. The beta will then open for everyone else on May 12 and run through May 14. Arc System Works has stated that information on the Switch open beta will be released at a different time.

During the beta, all 20 of the game’s base characters will be playable. Playable modes will include the Casual Lobby, the Tactics Mode, a VS mode against the CPU, and a VS mode against a second player. The latter will only be available to those who have pre-ordered the title digitally.

Arc System Works also announced that there will be an offline demo for Cross Tag Battle after the beta ends. Those who pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store will have access to the game’s full cast, while others will only have access to four playable characters. The demo will include the Tactics Mode and a VS Mode against the CPU. Those who have pre-ordered will also have access to the VS Mode against a second player.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will feature 20 DLC characters that will be released after launch. The last three DLC characters announced were Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4 Arena, Vatista from Under Night In-Birth, and Hakumen from BlazBlue. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch on June 5 in North America, and sometime during the summer for Europe.
