Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Receives a Release Date

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received a June release date.

Publisher 505 games has announced that the long-awaited Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has finally received a release date. Gamers can expect the title to drop on June 18 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will then release a week later for the Nintendo Switch on June 25.

505 games also released a trailer showcasing the advancements that the game has made over the last year of development. The video (seen below) shows off the game’s new graphical and lighting enhancements, all to the backdrop of new music by composer Michiru Yamane (who worked on the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night soundtrack).

Bloodstained has been in development for a few years now. The Kickstarter to fund the game ended four years ago in 2015. The title raised over $5.5 million, up from the original $500,000 goal. It is one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever. The game was set for a 2017 release, but was hit with delays due to development issues.

Bloodstained sees players taking control of Miriam, an orphan who was scarred by an alchemist curse that slowly crystallizes her body. In order to save both herself and the world, she must use various weapons and equipment that she can create and unlock to defeat the summoner Gebel and the minions of hell. The title features the biggest map of famed developer Koji Igarashi’s career, giving fans more to explore and discover than ever before. The game will also allow the player to unlock secret playable characters.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 18. The game will then release for the Nintendo Switch on June 25.
