You can never tell what will be announced for the Nintendo Switch, but Capcom has revealed one of their next releases. After something of a tease earlier in the year, Capcom has revealed the original Devil May Cry is on its way to Nintendo’s system. At the moment, details are sparse with the company’s Twitter announcement only revealing a vague summer release.

This will mark the first time that a Devil May Cry game will arrive on a Nintendo platform, although it seems Capcom is playing it safe to test the waters for the series’ future. We will need to wait and see if the rest of the PlayStation 2 trilogy ever arrives.
When Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen was revealed for the Switch earlier in the year, Devil May Cry V game director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Matt Walker said in an interview that they would love to play this franchise on Switch. The future of Devil May Cry series on the Switch may depend on the success of the original title, so we will see whether Capcom brings us the full franchise or simply stop here.
