Breath of The Wild: How To Dye Armor And All Dye Colors

Link has a certain style that he’s been rocking for decades. Sure, he might change up his tunic color from its usual green now and then, but it wasn’t until The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild and its sequel Tears of the Kingdom that he finally branched out and really got his fashion game on point. All the new armor does have different utilities, but where’s the fun in choosing an outfit based on that? Link needs to look his best while saving Hyrule!

Aside from just picking out which armor Link should strut through Hyrule in, you can also change up their color schemes with different dyes. Not every piece of armor in the game can have its color altered – for example, the Champion’s Tunic cannot – but most can if you know how! This guide will cover how to dye armor in Breath of the Wild plus what you need to get each color.

How To Dye Armor And All Dye Colors In Breath of The Wild

Getting dye is a two-step process. The first is to go over to Hateno Village and find the dye shop – it’s the one with the massive colored vials on the wall. The shopkeeper, Sayge, will dye whatever armor you have equipped for 20 Rupees, as well as the ingredients needed to make that specific color. If you want to color just one part of your outfit, so you can mix and match colors, you will need to unequip everything except the armor part you want to dye and do them one at a time. If you end up not feeling your new color, you can always revert back to your armor’s original hue

There are 15 different colors of dye you can formulate from different ingredients. You need to use at least five ingredients to make each dye, but they can all be a single ingredient, such as 5 Chillshrooms to make blue dye. Here are all the colors you can make, and what different ingredients can be used to make them:
