To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this week, Activision has announced a seasonal event for Call of Duty: WWII deemed Operation: Shamrock and Awe. The event started on March 13 and will run until April 3.
The event will include a new game mode called The Leprechaun Hunt Moshpit. An addition to current modes like Domination and Team Deathmatch, players will have the opportunity to hunt down a hidden zombie leprechaun lurking somewhere on the map. If a player kills the hiding creature, they will be rewarded with full Scorestreaks to deploy.
Any players that have the season pass for the game will also be able to play on a new map named Shipment 1944. Veterans of the series will recognize this as a revamp of the popular Shipment map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The map will be free to the public March 16.
Throughout the event, players will be rewarded with limited time St. Patty’s Day gear, including two new weapons: the MG 81 Light Machine Gun and M 38 Submachine Gun. Players will also receive 2X experience from 1 p.m. ET on March 16 until 1 p.m. ET on March 19.
