Valve is known for its quality in both the Steam platform and also their games. Half-Life, Portal and others of their single-player games are considered gaming classics. In the multiplayer genre, Valve also has mega hits like Counter-Strike and Dota, and with Deadlock, it looks like that streak will continue.
While Deadlock is still in an invite-only test stage, it has thousands of active players, with last week’s update bringing almost 50,000 concurrent players. This update also announced new potential Heroes for the MOBA shooter, along with a voting system for them to be selected. The Heroes are Mina, Billy, Paige, The Doorman, Victor, and Drifter. Players can now vote in-game for which of these Heroes they want to be added next, and we’ll explain how.

For this voting system, you will gain one vote after completing a match. The latest Hero to win the vote was The Doorman, who has portal abilities similar to those in the Portal franchise. However, Heroes and the voting system wasn’t the only thing added in this new update. Valve also made changes to the map and added The Hideout, an interactive room/menu where you can watch tutorials, practice your aim and hangout with friends.
While there isn’t a confirmed release date yet for Deadlock, it’s clear that Valve cares for this new IP, since they are building it along with feedback from a community of passionate players.
