Dune: Awakening Release Date And Pricing Revealed, Character Creator Out Now

We’ve been eagerly awaiting more news from Dune: Awakening, the large-scale multiplayer survival game which puts players on the desert world of Arrakis to survive and conquer on their own (or with friends). Thanks to the newest trailer for the game, we now know exactly when Dune: Awakening will launch – May 20!

That’s not all we’re getting today though, as alongside the release date trailer we got the surprise drop of a Dune: Awakening character creator and benchmark tool. Both are available right now on Steam, and will help you get your character set up ahead of the game’s full launch in three months. Those that do use the character creator will receive a code for a Frameblade knife skin in the full launch.

Dune: Awakening will cost $50 (or €50) with pre-orders starting “soon”. Those who do pre-order will get an in-game decoration as a thank you, with a complimentary Terrarium of Muad’Dib. Yes, you get your own adorable desert mouse for pre-ordering. Fans of Dune know exactly how iconic and important to the story that the Muad’Dib is, so that’s a pretty cool pre-order bonus if you feel so inclined to do so.

Arrakis may be the most dangerous planet in the universe, but you’ll be sharing it with the hundreds of other players assigned to your world, left to build your base and survive against the conditions of the desert and your fellow players. And also the sandworms. There is no Paul Atreides to help in Dune: Awakening either, as it takes place in a universe where the Fremen have disappeared, and Lady Jessica had her intended daughter.

Will you be picking up Dune: Awakening this May? What other Dune games would you like to see? Sound off in the comments below, and keep your eyes on GameLuster for more breaking gaming news.
