E3 Awards Show Scheduled for Final Day of Event

The Electronic Software Association has announced an official E3 awards show, scheduled for June 15, the last day of the this year’s virtual event. Games will be selected from those shown throughout the event, with winners selected by a collection of video game journalists. IGN, PC Gamer, GameSpot, and GamesRadar+ are among the video game media outlets represented.

“For this year’s event, we are collaborating with editors at some of the world’s leading video game media outlets to create the Official E3 2021 Awards Show, recognizing the show’s most anticipated games,” ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis commented. “The broadcast is going to be packed with exciting announcements and reveals, and celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 202.”

The event will be run in an all-virtual format from June 12-15 and will feature interviews, press conferences, and panels in addition to the plenty of game reveals and info. A whole host of games companies will be participating, including Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Sega, Square Enix, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Take-Two Interactive and Warner Bros. Games. Representing the indie game scene, developers Burgos Games, Dreamteck, Ghost Street Games, Hooded Horse, New Blood Interactive, and The Sixth Hammer will be participating as well.

The event will be available to view via an official online portal and app which will allow for avatar creation, profile customisation and access to forums, virtual lounges, booths and more, seeking to make the four-day all-online event more interactive than your average livestream. Coverage will also be available to watch on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

E3 takes place from June 12 – June 15.
