Ether One was released for the PC on March 24th, 2014. Be sure to check out our Ether One Review and our exclusive interview with Pete Bottomly.

White Paper Games just announced that they will be porting this wonderful game exclusively to the PS4! This version will be created from the ground up using the new Unreal 4 Engine. Instead of outsourcing to another studio, White Paper Games decided it was best if they worked on the game in house so that it would stay true to the original. They’ve partnered with SOEDESCO to publish the physical release of the game, so it’ll be available on the Playstation Network and retail!  They plan to announce a specific date for Ether One’s PS4 release soon.

What is the press saying about the game?
“The world of Ether One is a superbly detailed and well thought-out place.” 4/5
Joystiq

“Superb: A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won’t cause massive damage to what is a supreme title.”  9/10
Destructoid

“Ether One might well represent the apex of its particular subgenre. It engages the player at every level they might want to engage it, and rewards them handsomely for plunging into its depths.” 4.5/5
Hardcore Gamer

“Ether One made me feel something very real in a time of immense difficulty in my life. For that, I thank it.”

This is a really exciting announcement! I had the wonderful opportunity to try Ether One last year, for PC, and I have to say that it’s one of the most intriguing games I’ve ever played. However, my gaming rig could hardly handle the graphic fidelity of Ether One. It could handle it on the highest setting but it would chug a bit here and there. I was always hoping it would show up on consoles, and my prayers have been answered at last!  I look forward to experiencing this gem without all the lag, the way it was meant to be played!

I’m also hoping that with the announcement of Ether One’s official release that there will be additional content, gameplay updates, and maybe some special features specific for the PS4 version. A direct port with better graphics would be amazing in and of itself, but some added features here and there would make this already amazing game brilliant!

Ether One for PC is available to buy now from Steam, GOG & Humble and is currently 50% off during this week.
