Fall Guys Sells 2m Copies In Less Than A Week Since Launch

Fall Guys has sold 2 million copies on Steam since it’s launch on August 4, less than one week ago. Currently, Fall Guys is one of two games going free via Playstation Plus for August and will remain available until August 31.

According to a post via Devolver Digital’s Twitter, the game has clocked up over 23,000,000 hours on Twitch, seen 60,000,000 Fall Guys fall, and a staggering 1,500,000 crowns have been claimed.

In a press release, Paul Croft, the Co-Founder and Chief Games Officer of Mediatonic, said, “It has been overwhelming and humbling to watch the launch and reception of Fall Guys. We’re incredibly grateful to all of our players for their support and have big plans for the game in the future.”

He added: “We’re thrilled by the response and can’t quite believe how beloved our little jelly beans have already become.”

Fall Guys became a breakout hit, as Mediatonic’s battle royale yesterday exceeded 120,000 players via Steam, beating big titles including Grand Theft Auto V.

The only games above Fall Guys are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. At its peak, Global Offensive pulled in over 858,000 players.

At its peak, Fall Guys had reached over 124,000 players, further beating big-name titles including Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Football Manager 2020, and Destiny 2.

According to Twitch Tracker, at the time of publication today, Fall Guys is the third most viewed game based on viewer count, pulling in 155k, a substantial increase from yesterday, (sitting at 127k). Fortnite, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Grand Theft Auto V take fourth, fifth, and sixth places, respectively.

Fall Guys is out now on the PS4 and Steam.
