KFC has dropped a trailer for a ‘finger lickin’ good’ dating sim, in which you can win the love of the restaurants silver-fox mascot, Colonel Sanders, as you cook your way through culinary school, and his heart.
I Love You, Colonel Sanders!, a visual novel published by the fast-food titan themselves, promises to be the “most delicious dating sim ever created”. KFC’s first venture into gaming boasts surprisingly impressive anime-inspired visuals and animation, and a typical dating sim cast.
“Do you have what it takes to survive culinary school? Will Colonel Sanders choose you to be his business partner? Or maybe even so much more?” explains the game’s description on Steam. “Play to find out! Go ahead, Colonel Sanders is waiting.”

Colonel Sanders, based on the franchise’s real-life founder, is just one of the characters you can win over. If the fried-chicken heartthrob isn’t for you, you’ve also got two characters known as “the rivals,” and another “best friend” character.
As off-the-wall as this seems, this is just another step in the already unconventional advertising we’ve seen in recent years. Official Twitter accounts for Wendy’s and Sonic The Hedgehog have led the charge in social media advertising, posting memes and getting into fights with their rivals. But with this being picked up by dozens of other companies, it seems KFC is pioneering a fresh way to connect with consumers.
