First batch of downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront has been revealed

Details for what comes with Star Wars Battlefronts first batch of downloadable content have been revealed.

The new content titled Outer Rim includes two new maps, a new mode, new weapons and two new heroes.

The first map takes place on Sullust, a planet known for its lava flow and manufacturing plants. In the second, players will engage in closer-range battles inside the palace and garage of Jabba the Hutt.

The new mode that comes as part of this content is extraction, in this mode Rebels have to fight to deliver a resource shipment to their transport before time runs out. Those fighting for the Empire will be tasked with ensuring the delivery does not make it to the transport in order to claim victory.

Two new playable hero characters include the Sullustan rebel Nien Nunb and the Rodian bounty hunter Greedo. Additionally, those who purchase the downloadable content will have access to the Relby V-10 rifle, the DT12 blaster pistol, and Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim Star Cards. These new Star Cards can be collected and used in battle.

The Outer Rim downloadable content will be available this month and accessible to those who have purchased the games $50 season pass. Several other batches of downloadable content are planned for the game later this year, and among these will include maps involving the Death Star and Bespin.
