Microsoft has officially revealed via Xbox a blood-red, limited edition Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S. The blood-red 2TB console includes a matching red controller, a digital copy of Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, the Season Pass, a multiplayer emblem, character and weapon skins, and six “Gear” packs containing additional in-game items. Players who purchase the console bundle will also have access to the game four days early on October 7th.
Microsoft worked closely with Gears of War 4 developer, The Coalition, during the design process and created “something that looks as if it were lifted right out of the game: a console that bears the battle marks of surviving a desperate fight against Gears of War 4’s ferocious new enemies – the Swarm,” said Microsoft
The bundle will be priced at $450 USD with a release date of mid-September.
In addition to the console announcement, Microsoft announced a grey and blue Xbox One controller inspired by JD Fenix’s COG armor. The controller will be available September 13th exclusively at the Microsoft Store and GameStop for $74.99 USD. The red Gears of War controller will also be available for purchase separately on the same day and for the same price.
Gears of War 4 launches October 11, 2016 on Xbox One and Windows 10.
