According to PlayStation’s blog, the new God of War is now the fastest-selling exclusive for the PlayStation 4.
PlayStation states in the blog that their game, which has garnered critical acclaim from many sources, sold over 3.1 million units in its first 3 days of availability (April 20 – 22).
Shannon Studstill, studio head for God of War developer Sony Santa Monica, thanked the “millions of fans around the world who decided to embark on Kratos’ latest adventure with us” and that the “support is truly inspiring, and it’s a reason why we push ourselves every day to go beyond the boundaries of play.”
The previous record holder for fastest-selling exclusive was the much-loved Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, released back in May 2016, coming in at 2.7 million units sold. Horizon Zero Dawn was close behind with 2.6 million units sold.
Also to be noted, several updates are coming for God of War, including the fan-favorite photo mode and a remap option for Rage mode.
