GTA Fan Recreates Vice City Out Of Cardboard

We often praise gamers for their dedication to a particular video game, whether it be grinding through each boss fight in Elden Ring or attempting the gruelling permadeath mode in The Last Of Us Part II. In this day and age, the commitment and passion gamers put into the video games they love is endless, and the same can be said for this Grand Theft Auto fan.

Reddit user rafaelmizrahi, who shared a snap of their work online,  is not only passionate about the long-running crime series but resourceful too. They’ve built a mock-up of Vice City entirely out of cardboard. Probably expected me to say Lego or sand, but nope – cardboard and the results speak for themselves.

The visual evidence of their endeavour can be seen further below, and it’s clear the build was not achieved overnight. The saying goes, the devil is in the details, and the cardboard mock-up of the beloved Vice City, inspired by films such as Miami Vice and Scarface, is teeming with them.

From the storefronts and their advertisements, the trees lining the pavements, and the cardboard cutouts of people, building the city would have taken quite some time. In response, other Reddit accounts have praised Rafael’s work, with one Redditor describing the cardboard city as “adorable.”

Rafael shared a Youtube clip of a Tesla car toy, with a GoPro attached to the roof, being remote-controlled around the cardboard mock-up Vice City – and crashing in pretty much everything. At one point, they even throw buildings at the Tesla.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will turn twenty years old on October 29, following its release in 2002 to widespread acclaim. The fourth instalment in the franchise is now a part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, now available on all platforms.
