Indie Highlights From The Microsoft E3 2019 Conference

Microsoft delivered a plentiful sprinkling of indie games during its E3 conference today.

Among the first of those were Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Spirit Fairer by Lotus Studios and The Legend of Wright. The first is the sequel to the highly acclaimed platformer Ori and The Blind Forest, whereas the latter two are RPG exploration games set to release in 2020.

Most of the big announcements for indie games came from the Xbox Game Pass presentation. Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service by Microsoft, has acquired multiple indie games, including Riverbend, Unto the End, and Felix The Reaper.

Additionally, Xbox announced its partnership with the popular indie studio Double Fine, which is planning to release Psychonauts 2 in the future.

Another interesting addition was a top-down thriller entitled 12 Minutes, which focuses on a relationship between a man and his mysterious wife.

Way to the Woods, a game by Anthony Tan, borrows significant information from Studio Ghibli games. It’s an RPG-exploration game where you play as a deer and his child. The game is set to release in 2020.
