January PlayStation Plus Free Games

2018 is off to great start for PlayStation Plus users. This month’s lineup is chock full of spectacular titles of worth more than the preceding month’s free games.

First up for PlayStation 4 users is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It’s surprising to see a game still priced at a full $59.99 offered for free, but I’m not complaining. This installment of the Deus Ex series expertly combines elements of stealth, first-person shooting, and role playing. It’s received high praise for its overall gameplay and environment design. Mankind Divided‘s plot follows the concluding events of Human Revolution. It’d be a good idea to play Human Revolution before picking up Mankind Divided, but it is by no means crucial.

Next up is Batman: The Telltale Series. Telltale is known for delivering excellent episodic story-driven games. All your choices matter; they affect future outcomes and character relations as the game progresses. Batman is a solid game, but not Telltale’s strongest. It’s worth the play, none the less.

Here are the additional games available for free on other members of the PlayStation family:

  • Starblood Arena (PS VR)
  • Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness (PS Vita, PS4)
  • Uncanny Valley (PS Vita, PS4)
  • Sacred 3 (PS3)
  • The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS3)
