If a good selection of retailers are correct we may now know when 2K’s Mafia III will be arriving, several retailers have listed the highly anticipated game for release on April 26th.
IGN recieved the following image which shows an image from a Best Buy store showing a preorder card and a tag with the date. A listing on Gamestop also suggests that Mafia III will release on the day, which means the game could be arriving sooner then expected.
By no means does this confirm a release date for the game as we know that retailers sometimes list dates to deal with their systems, but this is oddly specific isn’t it? IGN received the following message from 2K following this news:
“Mafia III will release in calendar 2016 during Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year 2017. No official release date has been announced at this time. It is common practice for retailers to list placeholder dates before an official release date has been announced due to the requirements of their operating systems.”
So this pretty much confirms the release date listings are wrong if 2K are to be believed but we will have to wait for further information that maybe they are holding out on us.
