Mass Effect: Andromeda announced, features new galaxy and new gameplay

The latest installment in the popular Mass Effect Franchise was announced today, under the name Mass Effect Andromeda.

The newest game in the series is set to feature some changes in gameplay as well as setting. The game takes us to the Andromeda galaxy many years after the events of the third game where we get to visit a whole host of varying planets and of course explore. Just based on what was shown combat does feel more personal and we get excited with the knowledge of the omni-blades return. We should expect to once again be playing as either a male or a female character though it is unlikely to be the one shown in the announcement trailer.

Some cool new additions seems to also be in effect such as a jetpack which will allow for some awesome jumps as well as assist with lateral movement and terrain navigiation. Also there appears to be a customisable Dune Buggy which can be used.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to arrive on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2016. You watch the announcement trailer for the game below:
