Microsoft ceasing production of Xbox 360 consoles

Seeing as we are now at a certain point in the current generation it is expected that the last generation systems will eventually leave, the Wii did this early, and now the Xbox 360 is singing its swansong. With the Xbox One picking up steam Microsoft has made the decision to end production of its last console after ten long years.

Microsoft announced the news through the Official Xbox Website wherein they stated:

“Xbox 360 means a lot to everyone in Microsoft. And while we’ve had an amazing run, the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old are starting to creep up on us. Which is why we have made the decision to stop manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles. We will continue to sell existing inventory of Xbox 360 consoles, with availability varying by country.”

So there you have it the Xbox 360 is officially leaving us, the console has had a great run but we all knew this was coming. Despite having another bad controller it did a lot for the industry and I will remember it as my Bioshock console which is basically all it is.
