Naughty Dog confirms no more Single player DLC for the Last of Us only multiplayer

It is time to be disappointed for those who enjoy the Last of Us. Those hoping for a new single player campaign through DLC for the Last of Us will be sadly disappointed as Naughty Dog has ruled out the possibility for future single player content in the Last of Us.

For those who play the multiplayer Naughty Dog has said they do plan on adding extra maps to the multiplayer and continuing to expand that. Community Strategist Arne Meyer told DigitalSpy that they plan on bringing out more multiplayer focused DLC. Details for all this are to be announced shortly. As far as Single player campaign DLC goes there has been a firm definitely not going to happen placed on it. Here are Meyer’s exact comments:

“We just wanted to say when we released the Remastered version, we know there’s a lot of DLC out there, and that we weren’t going to stop supporting both the PS3 and PS4 versions. We do have some DLC planned, it’ll be multiplayer focused. We’re not ready to talk about the details yet, but throughout the rest of the year we’ll have some DLC drops.”

It is sad they are not doing anymore single player DLC and are leaving the story with Left Behind, but as I see it maybe this is strategy and they want to be able to have story they can use for a future entry. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
