Nintendo’s Switch Online service hasn’t exactly excited many of its subscribers for the past few months. This comes as titles that some players consider unappealing get added to the classic games service, while many call for more iconic, or at least notable, games to be added from Nintendo's extensive library. Finally Nintendo seems to be heeding the calls of players, as at least one of its biggest games is set for the Super Nintendo version of the service.
July 15 will bring three new games to the classic games services - two for the SNES service and one for the NES. Most notable among these is the 1994 Rare classic Donkey Kong Country. Nintendo will also be adding SNES title Natsume Championship Wrestling, as well as the NES game The Immortal from Electronic Arts.
Below is a description of the games available this month.
Donkey Kong Country – Armed with chest-pounding muscle, mighty barrel rolls and awesome vine-swinging skills, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong set out to face their adversaries, K. Rool and his reptilian crew of Kremlings. Play solo, compete with a friend or play cooperatively in over 100 levels filled with collectibles and hidden bonus levels.
Natsume Championship Wrestling– Choose from 12 outrageous wrestlers and bring the pain! With a robust grappling system and over 50 moves to master, experience the most realistic wrestling action of the 16-bit era. Test your might against the AI, or up to two players can compete in exhibition, tag team and round robin matches.
The Immortal – Grab your Wizard’s Pack and let your quest unfold as you explore the Labyrinth of Eternity. Delve into the dungeon’s depths to uncover the mysteries of the ancient ruins. Your teacher Mordamir awaits below!
These additions will bring the total games available via the Switch Online service to 85, and it remains to be seen if other notable classic titles will start coming to the service.
