Persona 5’s Joker is Joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Lineup

It seems the leader of the Phantom Thieves is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

During The Game Awards 2018, it was announced that Joker from Persona 5 will be joining the Smash roster. You can see the trailer below. This will make him the game’s 76th fighter, and one of the title’s guest characters. As Persona 5 was a PlayStation exclusive, this will be Joker’s first appearance on the Nintendo Switch.

Joker will be available for purchase on his own or as part of the game’s $24.99 fighter pass. There will be five DLC fighters, each of whom will come with their stage, as well as a collection of music.

“This gives you a flavor of how we’re approaching the DLC,” stated Reggie Fils-Aime at The Game Awards. “There’s going to be five characters. Each character will come with a stage [and] it’ll come with a collection of music. These are characters that are new to the series… characters that you would not anticipate to be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.”

Players can expect Joker to be released sometime early next year. The game’s first DLC character, the Piranha Plant, will release in February.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch. There will be a day one update for the game.
