Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Announced At Summer Game Fest

2023’s Summer Game Fest, hosted as ever by Geoff Keighley, started off strong. Keighley promised that the first trailer shown would be “unexpected,” and he was right! Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, an Ubisoft original, will be releasing on January 18, 2024. It represents a modern take on the iconic Prince of Persia series, featuring updated action sequences, platforming, puzzles, animation, and more! Keighley also revealed that more information regarding this title will be shown at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event streaming on Monday, June 12, 2023.

Prince of Persia is one of gaming’s most classic franchises, beginning with the original title in 1989 and now encompassing multiple games, mobile games, a film, and more. The original Prince of Persia is one of the most ported titles in all of video game history, having been ported over 20 times to a variety of platforms. Ubisoft has reportedly also been working on a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, initially announced in 2020, making The Lost Crown – a brand-new title – quite a surprising announcement indeed.

The Lost Crown is a 2.5D game featuring classic Prince of Persia gameplay with a modern twist. It features redesigned aesthetics, with the titular Prince given a new look to reflect the new generation of games. Gameplay will feature a mix of platforming segments, action, and tricky dungeon puzzles, with plenty of tough monsters and bosses to fight along the way.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is currently scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch, PC via Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Fans are hoping to see a longer look at gameplay during the Ubisoft Forward event coming next week.
