Rare is currently in the process of evaluating what they want to do next

While there are a lot of people out there who are similar to me and don’t really care what the now Microsoft exclusive development studio Rare is working on next because most of theirs games since their glory days with Nintendo have been pretty bad, others may want to know having enjoyed their more recent works. With this in mind Rare has recently wrapped up their time with their latest game Kinect Sports Rivals which was recently released, know the question many are asking what are Rare doing next?

Xbox head Phil Spencer wouldn’t provide any answers while speaking with OXM, as he says Rare is “in the process of evaluating what they want to do next”.

He said:

“Rare is an important studio [It has] just come off the successful launch of Kinect Sports Rivals. I think I’ve heard a few times from people asking about Rare – they’re in the process of evaluating what they want to do next, and we’re working closely with them to see what their new project will be.”

Spencer also couldn’t say if another Kinect-specific Xbox One title can be expected from Rare next:

“I’ve also laughed when people have tried to use the word, what I ‘force’ them to do. If you’re around any independent studio, or like Rare a studio that’s independent-minded, you’ll know that forcing a studio to do something is never a successful equation. So they’re free to look at all different kinds of opportunities, they always have been, and we’re having a great time trying to work out with them what their next game might be, but we have nothing to announce right now.”

I know what some of you will at least be hoping for next from Rare and I think in those books I could be similar, I think many of us want to see a return to the glory days of Banjo Kazooie and then build around it rather then more recent game in that had them driving cars. I also believe a new Conkers would be appreciated whatever the case is whether it is a good or extremely bad idea it is going to sell, though I believe a Kinect title is far more likely next
