Raven Software is working on Modern Warfare remastered

Today we received official word that Activision will be bringing us not one, but two Call of Duty titles in 2016, there is the expected new installment Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, and then there is a remaster for Call of Duty Modern Warfare. In terms of the remastered game it has been revealed that Raven Software is handling development of this game, in terms of the series as a whole Raven Software has been working on the multiplayer side for many years now and they want to do this remaster justice, Infinity Ward who is handling Infinite Warfare are serving as executive producers on the game.

Activision have stated the remaster to the iconic forth entry in the Call of Duty series:

“Boasts vibrant current generation visuals, with fully improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, lit and shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and audio, stunning sound, and much more.”

“The original Modern Warfare raised the bar on video games and forever will be remembered as one of the best.” Raven Software’s studio head, Brian Raffel, explained. “It’s an honor to be developing the remaster and we are committed to faithfully remastering this classic for Call of Duty fans.” 

In terms of what multiplayer maps will be offered in the game we know that it will include ten maps, as of yet we only have official word on three of them including Crash, Backlot and Crossfire. Modern Warfare Remastered will come bundled digitally with Infinite Warfare’s Legacy & Digital Legacy Editions, these will all arrive on November 4th.
