Resident Evil 3 Remake Is Now Available

Capcom’s highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 3 has officially hit stores as of April 3, 2020. In January of 2019, Capcom released Resident Evil 2 Remake, an action-oriented ground-up version of the PS1-era classic. Now, they’re back to give the franchise’s third entry the same treatment.

Originally released in 1999, the original Resident Evil 3 was the final entry on the original PlayStation and focuses on Jill Valentine’s attempt to save Raccoon City from another outbreak. Now though, a new enemy joins the fray as the monstrous Nemesis stalks its prey. Despite being the third numbered entry, it actually takes place before Resident Evil 2‘s events. This remake offers up the same core events as before but showcases the world in a new way.

The detail level is absolutely through the roof compared to the PS1 original. In its day, it was one of the most action-packed entry in the series. With the modern-day remakes amping that up to new heights, anyone who missed out on it before will definitely want to enjoy it now. The addition of Nemesis completely changed the feel of the adventure because players not only had to contend with the usual hordes of zombies but also Nemesis potentially lurking behind every corner.

Resident Evil 3‘s remake adds some extra value to the package thanks to the addition of RE Resistance, a four-on-one asymmetrical multiplayer game. This particular game offers up its own maps and allows those who want a more online shooter experience in their RE game to have the best of both worlds. Resident Evil 3 ended the Raccoon City saga and this remake brings the third entry to PCs and the Xbox family for the first time. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners can enjoy the game physically, while PC owners can enjoy it digitally via Steam.
