Rockstar Games may not have as power in the modern era, but there is no denying that they have a decent backlog of games, and they really want us to enjoy their long standing history. Over the past year Rockstar has launched many of their classic games from the Playstation 2 era to the Playstation Store as Playstation Classics, this includes Bully, Manhunt, and even multiple Grand Theft Auto’s. For those keeping count, or those who wish to recapture the past some more, Rockstar Games has released a brand new game to the Playstation Store.
The latest in their long line of releases is the classic Playstation 2 and Xbox brawler, The Warriors. I will note that this game is more of a re-release rather than a proper remake or update, but there are still some slight improvements that have been made. The game has apparently been up-scaled to run at 1080p according to its Playstation Store listing which states that it runs at:
“Full 1080p up-rendering and enhanced features such as Trophies, Shareplay, Remote Play, Activity Feeds and Second Screen support for game manuals with PS Vita or PS App.”
The listing also notes that:
“This title has been converted from the original PS2 version to the PS4. There may be times where the the title plays differently from the PS2 version.”
Interestingly, The Warriors is considered an excellent example of how to do a movie tie-in game, in a rare twist The Warriors was actually considered a better game than a movie by a variety of fans.
The Warriors was priced as £11.99/€14.99, at the time of writing I have been unable to find the American, or Australian pricing.
