A couple of months back Tantalus Media announced they were working on porting a game from the Wii U to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, at the time of this announcement it honestly had me guessing as to exactly what game could be seeing a release on other platforms. Of course after some thought it became perfectly obvious this game that would be ported would be ZombiU, of course the game would need a name change and would need a complete lot of reworking to get past the Gamepad specific features.
While no official announcement has been made by Ubisoft at this point it seems pretty likely something is coming. The game was released for the Wii U at launch and failed to really grab the attention of the Wii U audience and as such never generated a profit for Ubisoft. Originally Ubisoft intended to make a sequel for the game but after it failed on the market the idea was left behind, and because of this it seems likely Ubisoft would find a way to drum attention for the game with the launch on other platforms.
New rumors are even suggesting this, Unseen64 who are usally right when it comes to cancelled games and reliable information has apparently gotten information from a reliable source that Ubisoft is planning to bring the game to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. As I previously said the game will need to be seriously reworked in order to make the game work on these other platforms but it is possible. As of now this is just a rumor but given Unseen64’s track record it is likely this could be in the works and it is likely this is the project Tantalus Media are working on.
