Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time Out Today

Adult Swim Games, in cooperation with developer Soleil Games and Genndy Tartakovsky, announced the worldwide release of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.

Based on the Emmy award-winning series, and with a script from head writer Darrick Bachman, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time puts players in the sandals of Samurai Jack, the samurai torn out of time in his quest to defeat the evil Aku. Closely tied to the events depicted in the 2017 series finale, and billed as “an untold final adventure,” Jack finds himself thrown into an alternate timeline during the final battle with his nemesis. He must link up with his allies and overcome his most notorious enemies to get back to the unresolved battle and ultimately make his way home to the past.

Combining the show’s signature art style with fast-paced combat, leavened with both humor and drama, players will unlock various skills as they wield a dozen different weapons to take Aku and his hordes. Besides his signature katana, Jack will have access to weapons such as a morningstar, a scythe, and a bow. Along the way, he’ll meet up with classic characters such as Sir Rothchild, The Scotsman, and Scaramouche. Much of the original cast is returning for the game, with Phil LaMarr reprising his role as Jack, John DiMaggio as The Scotsman, and Greg Baldwin as Aku (who took over the role for the 2017 final season from Mako Iwamatsu, who died in 2006).

Alongside the major platform releases, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is also being released on iOS mobile devices and MacOS through Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade users will be getting the full game with updates, as well as any expansions which might theoretically be released without ads or additional in-game purchases.
