Split Fiction Smashes Past 1 Million Units Sold In Just Two Days

After just 48 hours on sale, Hazelight Studio’s latest co-op title Split Fiction has crossed one million units sold. The team announced the major sales milestone over on BlueSky, sharing that they’re “beyond happy” with the initial sales explosion of Split Fiction. We can’t say we’re surprised, given the overwhelming love being shown for the game online!

Hazelight has an ongoing record of making great co-op titles, with their last game It Takes Two also being a commercial and critical success. Interestingly, It Takes Two took a whole month to cross a million units sold, a feat that Split Fiction crossed in just two days. This is a sign of major sales growth for Hazelight with their audience, and a promising sign that the demand for co-op split screen games is still alive.

Split Fiction is entirely multiplayer, encouraging players to grab a friend either online or locally, as they explore the worlds of two author’s becoming trapped in their own stories, one sci-fi and one fantasy. Together they must work together to escape the fiction they found themselves split between (get it?) and give the two players a great time bonding through the experience. It’s been a resounding success even beyond these initial sales numbers, as Split Fiction sits at a universally acclaimed score of 91 on Metacritic.
