Streets of Rage 4 is coming to the Playstation 4, Xbox One and Battle Pass, PC and Nintendo Switch on April 30. Better still, the battle mode from SEGA’S fighting classic makes a comeback. It serves as a legacy experience from Streets of Rage 2 and 3. This mode will allow players to settle old scores with friends, Streets Of Rage style.
Streets Of Rage 4, once on sale, will be available for $24.99. That, combined with the insanely gorgeous artwork as seen below, what’s not to love?
Via a PlayStation Blog post, Dotemu, LizardCube, and Guard Crush Games discuss pixel art characters, as well as the classic Streets of Rage 1 and 2 soundtracks in the fourth installment.
Streets Of Rage 4 is the first entry to the franchise in more than two decades (a staggering 26 years). The title will reintroduce Axel, Blaze, and Adam, as well as brand new fighters, an updated hand-drawn art style, and combat depth.
Plus, Streets Of Rage 4 will offer an original soundtrack from Olivier Derivière, partnered with contributions from Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.
Earlier in the month, the first Retro Reveal trailer for Streets Of Rage 4 was announced. The last installment in the franchise, otherwise known as the Genesis trilogy, was Streets Of Rage 3. The third game was released all the way back in 1994, produced for the Sega Genesis. Feeling old yet?
