Underworld Ascendant Release Date Revealed

Otherside Studios has announced that their immersive sim title Underworld Ascendant will come to PC on November 15. The game will also release on Xbox One, PS4, and Switch in 2019.

The studio also released a new trailer and a developer diary, both of which you can watch below.

Underworld Ascendant is a followup to the Ultima Underworld games developed by Looking Glass Studios. Looking Glass veterans such as Tim Stellmach and Warren Spector make up Otherside Studios. They are bringing the systems-based and first-person immersive experiences found in the Underworld titles and others, like System Shock and Thief, to Ascendant. The game will emphasize player experimentation in an open-world environment. In addition to Looking Glass’ classics, Ascendant will also be similar to the design of Arkane Studios’ Dishonored and Prey.

The project began on Kickstarter and was successfully funded in March 2015 by 13,987 backers which raised $860,356.

Otherside is also working on System Shock 3 and Underworld Overlord.
