In Urban Myth Dissolution Center, you are tasked with investigating a variety of urban legends and mysteries. At the very beginning of the game, protagonist Azami is introduced to the world of urban legends and curse-breaking via sitting in a Cursed Chair. If she doesn’t break the curse in time, the chair will kill her – so here’s what you have to do to save her!
Find The Document
There’s a document about the nature of the curse somewhere within Ayumu Meguriya’s Dissolution Center office….but he can’t remember where he’s put it. Examine all three bookshelves, clicking both options – “???” for a general overview of the shelf, and “Look for the file” for a deeper examination. Unfortunately, none of the shelves have what you need.
Talk to Ayumu, and select “Can’t find it.” He explains that Azami needs to use her Ghost Sight power to find the file. Put on the Ghost Sight Glasses by pressing the button indicated on your screen (“X” for Nintendo Switch players.) Examine the ghost next to the bookshelf to find the Research File.
Find The Nature Of The Curse
Take off your glasses (using the same button as before,) talk to Ayumu, and click “Research file.” He acknowledges that it is the correct file. Select “Case wrapped?” and he explains that the curse, which causes lower-body necrosis, is not broken because the file has no information about how to break it. Then, select “How could…?” to get Ayumu’s suggestion to inspect the chair itself for clues.
Investigate the chair and select “Remember” to have Azami remember that she was stabbed by a splinter. Tell Ayumu that information by selecting “I remember now.” He tells Azami that she has all the information she needs to figure out what is really going on.
Break The “Curse”
Press the button shown on your screen (“L” for Nintendo Switch players) to examine your evidence. First, Ayumu reminds you of everything you learned so far. Now, fill in the statements as follows by selecting from the available evidence.
The “curse” causes necrosis, and Azami remembers a feeling like a splinter jabbing her, but she doesn’t have any splinter stuck in her body. Thus, the answer is:
Maybe there’s a mechanism in the chair’s seat / that jabs you with a needle / then injects a necrotizing poison.
Next, prove Azami’s hypothesis by examining the chair again and choosing “Take a look.” She does indeed find a secret compartment with a needle inside – only for Ayumu to reveal that the poison actually stopped working long ago, and he was just testing her….only now she’s destroyed the chair, and has to work for the Dissolution Center to repay her debt. Oh well, seems like there are lots of tricky cases for Azami to solve in the future, but at least the Cursed Chair is put to rest, and she’s not at any risk of dying of poison!
