The hotly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign, a co-op spin-off of gaming juggernaut Elden Ring, is having a closed beta to test the network for online play. The beta sign-up released last month, and invites are officially rolling out now to the lucky few who get chosen to be part of the five online sessions to try out the game early. Of course, because we live in 2025, it appears that some of these invites are being resold.
The network test invites for Elden Ring Nightreign come with a test code that gives you access to the beta version of the game on your selected platform and region, and they’ve already started to pop up on eBay from those who were selected. Prices currently sit at around $35, with sellers promising to email codes out as soon as the purchase is complete. It’s worth noting that this actually goes against eBay rules, with their help center specifically stating that beta software may not be sold.
It’s a shame to see these highly limited codes get sent out to those looking to make a quick buck, rather than going to actual fans of the game who signed up out of genuine interest rather than seeking financial gain of something that’s literally free, but here we are. Scalping is an out of control problem in all industries in the moment, but especially around limited edition gaming items, editions and software.
