Will Gaming Always Be Difficult on MacBooks Until Apple Changes Its Stance?

While it is possible to play games on a Mac laptop or desktop computer, there simply aren’t many games available, and the games that you can play from one of these systems just aren’t that good. They do not perform anywhere near as well as the games you can play on Microsoft Windows operating systems.

The question being asked here is, will gaming always be difficult on MacBooks until Apple changes its stance?

What types of computers does Apple sell?

Suppose you’re looking to invest in an Apple computer. In that case, the options you can go for right now are four different types of desktop computers – the Mac Pro, the iMac Pro, the iMac, and the Mac mini, and two different types of laptops – the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air.

If you’re interested in a device to fulfil your gaming needs, then you would be better going for the following:

  • MacBook Air – For many, this device is the best MacBook for gaming. It’s new, and it comes with a Liquid Retina display, approximately 18 hours of battery life, a decent camera, and the Apple M2 SoC central processing chip (series of ARM-based ‘system on a chip’). However, it’s pricey. Plus, you have to pay extra for a more powerful GPU, and it only comes with a standard of two Thunderbolt/USB ports
  • 14-inch MacBook Pro – This versatile system is super portable, and one of the main features is a high refresh rate Liquid Retina XDR display. It’s a new MacBook, and some of the other features are 16GB-96GB of unified memory that’s able to provide superb graphics and 512GB-8TB of storage. The only downside is the price
  • Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch system – This is the most expensive of these three models, and it has the same specs as the 14-inch. It’s the third generation. It’s slightly heavy compared to other similar devices, but it’s by far the ultimate Mac for gaming

Apple’s most popular iPhones are the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone SE.

Some of the other popular smartphones on the market today are the Samsung Galaxy S22, OnePlus 10 Pro and the Google Pixel 7 Pro. You can play some fantastic mobile games on these devices, plus they can also be used for playing live dealer casino games and placing sports bets via the 10bet sports betting android app and other similar trusted apps.

Are macs any good for gaming?

The Apple Mac computers mentioned above are fantastic pieces of kit for professional use and personal use, and they are often regarded as the most productive computer hardware on the market.

They have been designed to be workhorses that can run smoothly even when handling more than one large and demanding application at the same time. However, when it comes to gaming, they simply have not been built for this kind of activity.

Windows PCs have long been considered better for gaming, especially the high-end, more graphically demanding titles, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, F122, Resident Evil Village, Forza Horizon 5, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Halo Infinite.

With PC games, most have been designed to run on Windows operating systems, and this means that there are far fewer games available on Mac operating systems. Titles like the ones mentioned above simply weren’t designed as Mac-compatible games.

Things are improving, though, and don’t forget that it’s also now possible to download and install the ‘Parallels’ software, which basically enables Mac users to run Windows applications from their computer alongside each other with macOS programs. Therefore, thanks to this software, people with a Mac computer can use their devices to access the full library of games seamlessly on the Steam platform.

Conclusion

Mac computers have many limitations when it comes to gaming, and gamers are fairly restricted. In fact, many people with a Mac computer also have a Windows laptop or desktop computer just to enjoy gaming.

Macs are getting better for gaming. You can now play a growing number of AAA titles, such as Resident Evil Village, from your Mac computer. Experts predict that within the next five to ten years, Apple may have caught up with Windows, and you could eventually purchase your very own dedicated gaming Apple MacBook without the need for a Windows gaming PC.

However, as Apple continues apace updating and improving its hardware, it should not be forgotten that Microsoft and other hardware providerss in the gaming arena have many years advantage over Apple. For the time being, if you’re serious about gaming and want to play today’s hottest titles, you will just have to stick to gaming from a Windows device.
