Playing with your friends in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is quite simple. All you need to do is complete the first mission to get access to the Online Lobby option. Next, go and rest at any Battle Flag and select the Online Lobby option from the list. After that, you get three options on the screen, Recruit, Co-op, and Invade.

  • Recruit: This option enables you to recruit random players in the absence of your friends. When needing a helping hand, clicking on this option automatically assign other players to join your team, who can help you throughout the journey.
  • Co-Op: This option allows you to play with your friends. You can securely generate a password and send an invitation out to those who you’d like to join you in the game. This feature ensures that only players with the correct password can be added to your team, eliminating any chance of random players joining up.
  • Invade: This option allows you to invade other Worlds.

Select Co-Op if you want to play with your friends and have full control over who joins your game. Create a password and send the invitation out to team members. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more open experience, choose Recruit and join public servers with players from all over the world.

(Note: You will require Tiger Seals to recruit players. Furthermore, you can add only two players to your team)

Thanks for your comment! Chatting with friends is meant as a general advantage of co-op, not as a feature embedded within Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty itself. You can play with other players, but would have to use a messaging/chat service like PSN or Discord to actually communicate with them. Apologies if the wording was confusing.
