Worrying New Fall Guys Update Has Fans Concerned For Its Future

The wonderfully charming Fall Guys has been with us since 2020, accompanying many of us as we stayed indoors alongside other games like Among Us and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, Fall Guys took a very different path in 2022 following its move to become free-to-play after an acquisition by Fortnite developers Epic Games. The player count has been dwindling which already had fans nervous, but a new update to the game’s files has made fans even more concerned.

The new update has added cosmetics for the six year anniversary of the game, even though that’s a year away as they just had their five year anniversary last month. Additionally, 3D lobby backgrounds have already been scheduled to update once per month between now and 2027, with limited time modes and cosmetic content that has been added to the files expected to cycle and loop going forwards into the future.

The chaos of Fall Guys has an uncertain future.

In the words of one X (formerly Twitter) userFall Guys seems to be preparing itself to last “without a client update”, essentially setting it up to run by itself on autopilot. Combining this update which seemingly sets the game up for a looping content cycle future, along with the declining player count and unhappy fanbase, it’s not looking good right now for Fall Guys. We have reached out to Mediatonic for comment and will follow up should we receive a response.
