Xbox Confirms Starfield Standalone Show

Earlier this week, rumors about Xbox having a Developer_Direct showcase was swirling around the web. On a recent Xbox news wire post, Microsoft’s gaming giant confirmed the show’s existence, and the showcase will be held on January 25. The event will show off upcoming games like Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall. However, Xbox also confirmed it would keep Bethesda’s forthcoming RPG Starfield behind closed doors for its standalone event.

It’s no secret that Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Given the track record of Bethesda, fans are hoping for a stellar game to sink their teeth in. Executive producer Todd Howard has gone on record saying that Starfield will have over a thousand planets for fans to explore. Since this bold claim from Howard, fans are a bit skeptical about what this space RPG has to offer.

Last year, Bethesda showed off the official gameplay of Starfield, which received a mixed reaction from fans. However, fans are still eager to see more of the game before its release this year.

The Fallout developer’s newest space RPG will be massive, so having a standalone showcase makes sense. Xbox will want to convince fans that Starfield is ready to impact the gaming industry when it launches later this year.
