Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller Announced, Elite Controller Coming To Design Lab

Xbox has announced that its Elite Series line of controllers will have a new and cheaper addition, revealing the ‘Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core’. Catchy name, right? The controller is $129.99, which is $50 less than the original Xbox Elite Series 2 controller at $179.99.

The ‘Core’ controller includes just the essentials for playing games competitively, without the additional interchangeable components of the standard Elite Series 2. These essentials include a wrap-around rubberized grip, shorter hair trigger locks and adjustable-tension thumbsticks.

This is missing the four paddles, additional thumbstick and D-pad replacements, as well as the carrying case included in the original Xbox Elite Series 2. These interchangeable components can still be purchased separately to add to the Core controller in future.
