2014 was the year of disappointing and underwhelming games, 2015 on the other hand is the year of delays, already we have seen some of the years biggest or most anticipated games move out the year and move themselves off to 2016. As with the case of many delay’s fans will not be happy as the latest game to join the delays list is XCOM 2. This PC exclusive was announced earlier this year and fans of the franchise were excited to get their hands on the game, unfortunately they are going to have to wait a little bit longer as the game has been re-slated for February 5th of next year.
Firaxis at least has a good reason for the delay sighting the high standard that they have for the game, in a statement here is what they had to say:
“We’ve set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown. We just need a little more time to make it the best possible game.”
“With XCOM 2, we want to have more depth, more replayability, and more investment in your soldiers and this extension will give us the time we need to deliver on our promise to you. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we move towards February.”
Delay’s may be disappointing but hopefully with more time in the oven we will get an overall better game.
