Yooka-Laylee has been delayed to 2017, new trailer has been released

Yooka-Laylee is another game that has taken its cue to exit and has walked right out of 2016, this game was supposed to arrive at the end of the year, however Playtonic has released a new trailer for the game and with it revealed a new release window for the first quarter of 2017.

In a blog post on their website Playtonic explains the delay as something they have chosen to do in order to spend more time fine-tuning and polishing the final product. They state:

“As well as revealing the first gameplay in over a year, this video also confirms that, after long consideration and knowing through dialogue with our fans that they value quality and polish above all, we’ve made the difficult decision to lock the release of Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017.”

“While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule.”

At least we have a new trailer to counter this sad news, and in this new trailer we get to see new transformations and power ups for Yooka and Laylee, as well as a mine cart sequence which I believe was shown in a past trailer though I could be wrong, you can watch the trailer below:
