Breath Of The Wild: All Great Fairy Fountain Locations

Great Fairy Fountains are present in some form in most games in the Zelda franchise. These helpful spirits typically lend Link some aid in the form of improving his equipment, giving him a new skill or ability, and even magic! While we don’t know if they will return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just yet, in Breath of The Wild these Great Fairies serve an equally great purpose.

Despite what you might think of when imagining a fairy, Breath of The Wild‘s version is the largest they’ve ever been. Even so, they’re downright tricky to find in such a massive world. There are only four in the entire land! If you want to find them and take advantage of their services, here’s where to find them all.

All Great Fairy Fountain Locations In Breath of The Wild

The four Great Fairies across the map.

First, we should cover just what a Great Fairy will do for you once you manage to find one. Each one you visit in Breath of The Wild, and pay an increasingly expensive amount to wake them up, can upgrade your armor a single level. You will need whatever materials they require to upgrade that specific armor as well, but that is nothing compared to the Rupee costs later on. Again, there are four Great Fairies, however, the order you find them doesn’t matter. The first one you visit will always cost the same and upgrade your gear to level one.

The prices to wake a fairy, in whatever order you meet them, are:

  • 100 Rupees
  • 500 Rupees
  • 1,000 Rupees
  • 10,000 Rupees

Here is where each fairy is, also starred on the map above (the star south of Faron belongs to the Horse Fairy which revives horses!):

Great Fairy Cotera: Found in the forest on top of a hill in Kakariko Village.

Great Fairy Mija: From Akkala Tower, head east across the river and into the little patch of forest just off the road.

Great Fairy Kayasa: Kayasa is a short trip almost straight south from Tabantha Tower. She is on a plateau with a lake.

Great Fairy Tera: This fairy is deep in the Gerudo Desert. The only real landmark to look for in the sandy waste is the skeleton she’s under.
