Just like in Breath of the Wild, Link in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gets a power to scan Amiibo. These helpful figurines can grant him additional resources like fish, fruit, and arrows, and in the case of the 26 The Legend of Zelda series Amiibo, can grant him special unlocks, some of which cannot be gained any other way.
To scan an Amiibo you will need to use the L button to bring up the power wheel and select Amiibo. When a circle appears, touch the base of your Amiibo to either the joystick of your right Joy-Con or the Switch Logo on the Pro controller and wait for a response. Once the game recognizes the Amiibo, a random amount of supplies and a chest will fall from the sky. Note that the same restrictions that applied to Amiibo in Breath of the Wild apply in Tears of the Kingdom – you can only scan the same Amiibo once per calendar day, and that whether or not an Amiibo grants its unique items is up to RNG. However, if you want multiple tries, you can save before testing, shift your system clock repeatedly, or simply use a second copy of an Amiibo. This guide covers all The Legend of Zelda Amiibo and the rewards they provide.
Link Amiibos
Super Smash Bros Link/ Twilight Princess Link- These two Amiibo seem to have the same drops, allowing you to get the Mirror of Twilight Paraglider Fabric, Link’s horse Epona, the Cap of Twilight, Tunic of Twilight, and the Trousers of Twilight, and the Dusk Claymore, a 32-power claymore. The resources dropped are Mighty Bananas and various elemental fruits. The common chest items are Knight’s Broadsword and Knight’s Broadsword+.
Wolf Link– Can drop the Mirror of Twilight Fabric. If you already have that fabric, this Amiibo will only spawn resources, which will be a lot of prime and occasionally gourmet meats.
Ocarina of Time Link/ Young Link – Another set of shared drops. From these you can get the LonLon Ranch Paraglider Fabric, the Cap, Tunic, and Trousers of Time, and the Biggoron Sword, a 36-power Claymore. The resources dropped will be almost exclusively meat.
Wind Waker Link/ Toon Link– Another doubled set. These two can grant the Kind of Red Lions Fabric, the Cap, Tunic, and Trousers of the Wind, and the Sea Breeze Boomerang, a 16-power Boomerang. The resources dropped will be fish, and the chest can also contain Knight’s Broadswords.
8-Bit Link – This Amiibo drops the Pixel Paraglider Fabric, as well as the Hat, Tunic, and Trousers of the Hero. Its unique drop is the Sword of the Hero, a 17-power broadsword. It can also drop Soldier’s Shields. Its resources come in the form of some arrow bundles, and barrels, each of which is guaranteed to have at least one arrow inside. Sometimes it will spawn explosive barrels too, so beware!
Majora’s Mask Link– He drops the Majora’s Mask Paraglider Fabric and the Fierce Deity Mask, Armor, and Boots, each of which give an offense boost when worn. It can drop the Fierce Deity Sword as well, a 38-power claymore. This amiibo drops mushrooms for resources, and the chest can also contain Knights Broadswords.
Skyward Sword Link– This Link can drop the Sword-Spirit Fabric, as well as the Cap, Tunic, and Trousers of the Sky, and the White Sword of the Sky, a 24-power broadsword. (In previous titles, this weapon was known as the Goddess Sword) The resources dropped will be large crates which can contain single arrows and bundles of arrows.
Link’s Awakening Link– This Amiibo drops the Egg Paraglider Fabric, and the Hat, Tunic, and Trousers of Awakening. The Hat of Awakening is especially notable as it cover’s Link’s entire head and looks like his plastic design from the Link’s Awakening remake.
Breath of the Wild Archer Link – This Amiibo drops the Tunic of Memories Fabric, a random selection of fish, and various bows, including the 26-power Knight’s Bow.
Breath of the Wild Rider Link– This Amiibo drops the Hylian Hood Fabric, various mushrooms including Silent Shrooms and Hearty Truffles, and broadsword weapons.
Tears of the Kingdom Link– The newest Link Amiibo drops the Champion’s Leathers Fabric, various mushrooms (always including at least a few Skyshrooms,) and broadsword-type weapons.
Zelda Amiibos
Super Smash Bros Zelda– This Zelda drops the Princess of Twilight Fabric and various bows. This includes the Dusk Bow (called the Twilight Bow in previous games,) a 30-power bow with impressive firing distance – though not quite as absurd as it was in Breath of the Wild. This bow can also be found in-game in Hyrule Castle and respawns every blood moon.
Sheik– The Sheik Amiibo drops the Sheik Fabric and Sheik Mask, which improves Link’s stealth when worn. It will also drop Sheikah-related items like the Eightfold Blade, Phrenic Bow, and Shield of the Mind’s Eye.
Wind Waker Zelda– This Zelda can drop the Bygone Royal Fabric and the Sea Breeze Shield, which has a defense of 65. It also drops herb-type resources and other useful shields.
Zelda and Loftwing– This Amiibo drops the Zelda Sailcloth Fabric and the Goddess Fabric, as well as herb and vegetable resources and bows like the Knight’s Bow.
Breath of the Wild Zelda– This Zelda drops the Hyrule Princess Fabric, various herbs, and several good shields, including the 40-defense Knight’s Shield.
Other The Legend Of Zelda Amiibos
Ganondorf– This Amiibo drops the Demon King Paraglider Fabric, a small amount of base-quality meat, and a gemstone like Amber or Opal.
Daruk– Daruk can drop the Goron Champion Fabric or the Vah Rudania Helm, which protects Link against fire. The resources dropped will be minerals, such as Rock Salt and Flint, and the chest will contain a Cobble Crusher or CobbleCrusher+. These beefy swords are best used for mining.
Mipha– Mipha kindly drops the Zora Champion Fabric and the Vah Ruta Helm, which increases Link’s swim speed. She also drops a large collection of fish and can also drop Zora Spears.
Revali– Revali will begrudgingly drop the Rito Champion Fabric and Vah Medoh Helm, granting Link cold resistance. The resources he drops are a collection of fruits, nuts, and berries. He can also drop the long-range Swallow Bow and Falcon Bow.
Urbosa– Urbosa drops the Gerudo Champion Fabric and the Vah Naboris Helm, which boosts Link’s shock resistance. Her resources include meat and bird meat, and her chests can also contain Gerudo Scimitars and Scimitars+
Guardian– The Guardian amiibo drops the Ancient Sheikah Fabric. Its chest can also contain the Ancient Blade, a 50-power arrow fusion item, this game’s equivalent to the Ancient Arrow from Breath of the Wild. Its resources are three large metal boxes which can contain either arrows or cooked basic ingredients.
Bokoblin– Last – and cecidedly least – is the Bokoblin. This drops the Bokoblin Fabric and some meat. All its other chest items are weak Boko Shields, Boko Bows, or even simple Sticks.
